China is building a thorium molten salt reactor

China has been experimenting with thorium nuclear for a decade and is now building a new project in its desert. Thorium nuclear has many advantages: it’s safe,  low cost, does not require water, and its nuclear waste is relatively short lived nor is it weapon grade.
